GANGTOK, 13 Nov: Remanti Rai and Robin Mukhia of Sikkim have won the title of the “North East Ke Super Star” in their respective categories. In the final results announced on Sunday, Remanti won the title in the singing competition while Robin shared the title with another constestant from Manipur in dance.
The event was telecast on DD North East channel on Sunday evening.
After making it to the semi-final round on the basis of their performances, the final round was purely based on SMS voting, in which the duo was supported by the people of Sikkim and the neighbouring hills.
Remanti and Robin Fans Club, Gangtok has decided to organize a reception for them at Rangpo as well as a musical programme, ‘Hijo, Aja and Bholi’ shortly to celebrate the duo’s victory.
In a meeting held today, chief patron of the club, Thukchuk Lachungpa, mentioned that it was due to efforts from every side that brought victory for the duo and assured to continously help out local artists in the coming days too.
Likewise, chief co-ordinator, DK Lepcha, and advisors, Kiran Rasaily, Joseph Lepcha, Chunnilall Ghimirey, Uday Sharma and Bhim Rawat thanked the public from across the state and neighbouring hills for supporting the duo to bring another laurel to the state.
They also mentioned that this victory also brings a reason for the people of Sikkim to rejoice and celebrate after going through a difficult time recently due to the earthquake.
