GANGTOK, 18 Aug: Sir Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School also celebrated the 68th Independence Day here at the school premises on 15 August. The celebration was chaired by T’Nite Alumni Association president, DIG [retd] BK Roka as the chief guest.
A press release of the school informs that the celebration started with the hoisting of the National flag by the chief guest followed by the national anthem. The NCC contingent and the school contingent presented the Guard of Honour.
In his address, Mr Roka spoke on the moral responsibilities of the students and advised them to strive hard to achieve their goals. Two students, Abishek Sharma of Class X and Amiras Luitel of Class XII [Humanities] also presented speeches on the occasion.
Pema Wangdi Lepcha of Class XII [Hum] and Sagar Sundas of Class XI [Hum] were presented with the “Best NCC Cadet” medals.
