GANGTOK, 21 Aug: On the occasion of Bhasa Manyata Diwas on Wednesday, senior journalist Joseph Lepcha of national Hindi daily, Dainik Jagaran, and literary figure, TB Chandra Subba, were felicitated at a function organized by Retired Government Employees’ Association of Rhenock.
A press release informs that the two were felicitated in recognition of their contributions in preserving and developing the Nepali language.
Mr. Lepcha has been working in the field of media for the last twenty years. He is also the general secretary of the Press Club of Sikkim and has acted in Nepali films as well.
The function also included poetry recitals by RK Pradhan, Abhi Narayan Misra, students from Rhenock Government College. A poetry competition amongst school students of various schools was also held on the day.
