GANGTOK, 22 Aug: The Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim organized an Awareness & Sensitization programme for the Tourism stakeholders at Lachung and Lachen, North Sikkim on 19 and 20 August, respectively.
The programme was attended by the Pipon of the respective Dzumsas as the chief guest along with the Chultrimpa, Senior Citizens of the Dzumsas.
A press release informs that the programme was held for Tourism stakeholders from Lachen and Lachung region, North Sikkim. Around 60 participantscomprising of Hotel operators, Homestay operators, Trekking Guides, Assistant guides and drivers actively participated in the programme, it is informed.
The resource persons for the programmes were Freelance motivator, Manil Raj Rai, vice president Travel Agents Association of Sikkim, Tsering Dorjee and president Sikkim Hotels and Restaurants Association, Pema Lamtha. They covered various topics like marketing, homestays, tourism oriented approach, etc.
Earlier, Trekking Officer, Tsewang Ngodup presented the welcome address on behalf of the organizing Department.
