GANGTOK, 21 Aug [PIB]: Three-day Samajik Chetna Abhiyan was organized by 36th BN SSB Gangtok for the people of Rimbi and adjacent villages that concluded today.
As per a press release, during the three-day long awareness campaign, medical officers of SSB examined and treated a number of villagers suffering from various ailments and provided medicines free of cost. Veterinary medicines were also distributed among villagers for their livestock and cattle.
President GPU Darap, Pranay Limboo was present as the chief guest for the valedictory function where he distributed prizes and certificates to winners of different competitive events. Addressing the function he appreciated the events organized by SSB and congratulated the winners of various competitions as quiz contest, debate competition and drawing competition. He extended his sincere thanks to SSB for organizing this programme as it provided students a platform to show case their talents.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Rimbi High School, Krishana Limbu said that these events provided students an opportunity to expose their hidden talents. These events will surely develop a sense of competition among students and add to their knowledge. He urged the SSB to organize such programmes in the future as well, the release mentions.
Manoj Kumar Singh [Second-In-Command Offg Commandant], DK Thongon [AO Sikkim Area], Dr. Doma Lachenpa [Asstt. Commandant Medical], Anil Singh Yadav [Asstt Commandant] and Deepak Savita [Asstt. Commandant] were present during the entire programme.
