GANGTOK, 19 Aug: The Cabinet has decided to “reconvene” the Sikkim Legislative Assembly from 29 August. The decision to reconvene the next session is reportedly to discuss important government business including the National Judicial Appointments Commission and also the 121st Constitution Amendment Bill passed by the Parliament to bring a new mechanism to appoint Supreme Court and High Courts judges. The State government is also expected to place Justice [retd] RK Patra Enquiry Commission's report which was submitted on 05 March, earlier this year, sources inform.
