“My Earth My Duty”

ITBP’S ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
GANGTOK, 20 Aug: The Himveers of  Indo Tibetan Border Police Force at Sector Head Quarter Gangtok, Tadong Camp organized a plantation drive as part of environment awareness campaign cum plantation activity “My Earth My Duty” on Tuesday.
As per a press release, the event was organized and celebrated with a medley of plantation activity, children’s painting competition and dance competition.
The campaign addresses the issue of environmental degradation and is aimed at sensitizing and encouraging the force personnel and their families to take concrete actions towards mitigating the effects of climate change and environmental degradation .
Present on occasion were DIG Raman Khadwal, senior officers of ITBP and other personnel. The DIG, in his address, urged the troops to plant more saplings to keep environment clean and green. He also emphasized on the need of the  hour to understand our duty towards mother nature, the release mentions.
