GYALSHING, 04 June: Yangthang constituency MLA, Chandra Maya Subba visited Lingchom today and met with the people there. Her visit was part of her program to thank the people of the constituency for electing her as the area MLA. Many SDF party functionaries accompanied her.
The MLA first visited the Lingchom Secondary School where she interacted with the School Managing Committee members, students and the villagers. Lingchom Secondary school has been chosen for the Green School Award from the state government which will be awarded on Thursday.
The principal of the school informed that the school is being awarded for working efficiently on environment related projects. He said that the school is amongst the top five schools chosen in the state.
The MLA congratulated the school fraternity for the award and said that the school's way of functioning is praiseworthy. She further added that the school should maintain consistency in order to improve the education sector in the state.
The villagers placed their demand to the MLA regarding the school's upgradation to the higher secondary level. They said that the upgradation of the school to the senior secondary level can solve the problems of the local students as they would not have to go to schools at far off places for higher studies. The area MLA has assured the people to work positively on the matter. She said that the upgradation of the school will be carried out according to the norms.
After completing her interaction program in the school the MLA later had a meeting with the people of Lingchom. Addressing the masses she thanked the people for ensuring her win in the election and voting in her favor.
Terming the victory of the SDF party as the win against the opposition party's filthy politics of falsehood, she said that the people's mandate in the favor of the SDF was a crushing blow to the opposition camp. She further added that SDF party's victory is the real victory of the Sikkimese people as according to her the party has been pro-people and development centric since its formation two decades ago.
Talking on the future developmental agendas of the state government she said that the government will work positively according to the changing times and environment. She further added that the government under the SDF party will work to upgrade the socio- economic conditions of the people.
