GANGTOK, 03 June: The Governor of Sikkim, Shriniwas Patil has expressed deep sadness and grief on the sudden demise of Union Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water & Sanitation, Gopinath Munde, following a road accident at New Delhi on the morning of 03 June 2014.
In his condolence message, the Governor said, “Late Gopinath Mundeji was a true mass leader hailing from Marathwada region of Maharashtra. Throughout his life, he was committed to the cause of the downtrodden. With his death the country has lost the leader representing the hopes and aspirations of the downtrodden in the country.
At this time of bereavement, I join the people of India to offer my deepest condolence to the family members. I pray to the almighty for bestowing strength to his family members to cope with this great loss”.
