In his address, Secretary Commerce & Industries Department, PT Euthenpa, briefed about the structural pattern and activities of the Department. He assured the Minister that full co-operation and assistance would be rendered for industrialization in Sikkim.
The Minister said that the Office and Staff need to have innovative ideas and welcoming attitude towards outside investors. He added that the official procedures need to be simplified so that the prospective investors are not harassed.
The Minister emphasized on revenue generation by the Department. He showed particular concern about sick industries units like Government Fruit Preservation Factory wherein he will have separate and thorough discussion regarding its revival. The Minister was more concerned about the ongoing projects and he assured his full support for getting the requisite fund.
The Minister also had a separate meeting with the Officers and Staff of Directorate of Handloom & Handicrafts (DHH) at the DHH Conference Hall at Zero Point where he was received by the Director, Officer & Staff of DHH. The Director, DHH, Ganga Pradhan, briefed about the activities of DHH.
In his brief address, the Minister stressed on quality products and revenue generation by the organization. He opined that the artisans should have innovative ideas so that new techniques could be developed in making products rather than sticking to the old ideas and methods.
The Minister was accompanied by Secretary, Commerce & Industries, Mr Euthenpa.
