MIDWEEK SIZZLE: The evenings remain the best parts of the day
[okay, also early mornings should one be forced to wake up early]. The days meanwhile
remain hot and the discomfort levels even higher. In Gangtok, the blazing Sun
pushed the mercury up to 25 degrees Celsius, but weather experts, factoring in
the humidity which hung heavy at 67% during daytime and climbing to 77% in the
evening, calculated that the heat felt more like 30 degrees Celsius [that’s the
discomfort level figure]. Little wonder then, that locals and tourists alike crowded
every available shade, the ‘sunnier’ side of MG Marg drawing visibly fewer
people than the shaded half.
