The service was flagged off on 31 May by Singtam District Hospital MS, Dr. Rita Gautam in the presence of Singtam Police SHO and members of the association.
Dr. Gautam said that this service will not only be beneficial to drivers and their families, but will also help the general public during medical emergencies. She has also expressed her gratitude to the members of the association for taking such an initiative for the welfare of the people in general.
Dr. Gautam also assured that during emergencies a doctor or nursing staff will be provided while transporting the patients from one hospital to another or in referral cases on the request of the association or affected parties.
To avail the ambulance service the association's secretary Baichung Tamang can be contacted at 95937-73571 or the ambulance driver Ramu Chettri at 95958-85663.
