CHAMLING MEETS AND THANKS PUBLIC OF NAMCHI-SINGITHANG

“Able youth selected for Rangang-Yangang byelection”
Namchi, 02 June [IPR]: Chief Minister Pawan Chamling was felicitated today on his victory by the public of Namchi Singhithang at his residence in Ghurpishey today. This was Mr. Chamling’s first interaction with the people of his constituency. Apart from Rangang-Yangang, which he has relinquished, Mr. Chanling also won the Assembly elections from Namchi-Singhithang.
Mr. Chamling greeted the public humbly with a note of thank you [“dhanyabad”] while the public offered him scarves.
Taking a break from the felicitation, speaking about his 20 years of governance, he remarked that in India, Sikkim was the only state which has experienced rapid growth in terms of development in all aspects whether it be in business opportunities, education, tourism or other important infrastructures.
He assured the public of his constituency to carry on complete all the public works/ demands in the coming days.
The Chief Minister urged the people to put aside their prejudices of caste and other differences to work collectively for a better Sikkim when it comes to the overall development and welfare of Sikkim.
According to an official confirmation received from the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Mr. Chamling has resigned as the MLA of Rangang Yangang constituency in South District.
In this context, the Chief Minister today notified the IPR Department that a youth candidate has been selected to represent the SDF party to contest in the forthcoming by-elections.
Public of the nearby constituencies and employees of Namchi also felicitated the CM today. Officials present were SP South Sonam Gyatso, ADM South Kapil Meena, SDM HQ Sandup Bhutia and SDPO Namchi Gigee Norbu.
