Social audit held for MGNREGA works at Perbing Dovan GPU

GANGTOK, 02 June: A daylong MGNREGA Social Audit Gram Sabha for Perbing Dovan GPU was held at Perbing Dovan Gram Prasashan Kendra in South Sikkim on 31 May, a press release informs. The social audit was for completed and ongoing MGNREGA works implemented there during the financial year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-2014. 
District Resource Institution for South Sikkim, Pacific Club, facilitated the Gram Sabha under the guidance of Social Audit Unit (SAU), Sikkim Voluntary Health Association of Sikkim (VHAS), the release details. Zilla Panchayat member Hari Gurung was present as chief guest and the Gram Sabha was also attended by GVA-Namthang, Robin P. Sewa, Assistant Engineer [Namthang GVK], Sumitra Adhikari, Assistant Program Officer (APO) Sonam Tenzing Bhutia,  JE Deependra Pokhrel and Abishek Kharel.
Also, all the Gram Panchayat members along with Job Card holders of all the five wards of this GPU also participate the programme, the release informs.
Altogether, 18 works were covered at the Gram Sabha of which 14 have been completed.
The total sanctioned amount of the Audited Schemes was Rs 88.31 lakh and audited amount was Rs. 52.15 lakh, the release details

Some of the issues raised during the Gram Sabha were: provision of worksite facilities at all the worksites; Worksite Material Monitoring Committee needs to form before the starting of the work; Three stages Photograph (Before, during and after) needs to displayed at GPK; Copy of Consolidated Muster Roll must be available during Social Audit; All the Job Card and Bank Passbooks need to be updated.
