Alleged counting day vandals booked

GANGTOK, 02 June: Nine people were arrested and subsequently released on bail by the police in Jorethang, South Sikkim, on charges of vandalism allegedly unleashed by them on the day of counting of votes- 16 May. The accused were arrested by the police on 01 June, Sunday, and later released on bail. The complainant, Phurden Lepcha, had filed a complaint with the police alleging that the accused had pelted stones at his house damaging his window and garage door on 16 May. The complaint was reportedly filed a few days ago.
