GANGTOK, 06 Apr: Sikkim Democratic Front spokesperson, TN Sharma, today expressed that the party wants to create a peaceful election environment. While condemning the alleged violence by Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, he stated that violence is not the solution to any problem.
Addressing a press conference today, Mr Sharma alleged that SKM has still not given up its violent character and continues to attack SDF workers and supporters. He informed that a party worker, Sanjay Gurung was attacked at Ruchang under Namthang-Rateypani constituency on Saturday.
He has been referred to Siliguri from Namchi Hospital, it was informed.
SDF spokesperson, Bhim Dahal urged SDF party workers to ignore provocation by SKM in the remaining few days before the election. Instead, he urged party workers to respond by ensuring the victory of the party in the election.
Speaking on former Chief Minister, Nar Bahadur Bhandari’s support to SKM, Mr Dahal stated that Mr Bhandari can give his blessings to any party but the SDF has the blessings of the people of Sikkim. He reiterated that Mr Bhandari’s support to SKM does not make any difference to SDF.
