GANGTOK, 06 Apr [IPR]: Maj. Gen. Shyam Shrivastava, Additional Director General, WB and Sikkim Directorate NCC, visited Sikkim on 04 and 05 April. The General Officer has been associated with PRITHVI and AGNI missile programme from 1996 to 1999. He has visited both the NCC Units in the State.
The NCC cadets of the State gave him a smart reception at Gangtok. The General Officer lauded the efforts of all the NCC cadets and met most of them in Namchi and Gangtok. He appreciated the Traffic Management being carried out by the Cadets of 3 Sikkim Bn NCC at Namchi & Gangtok on 04 and 05 April 2014.
He encouraged the cadets to serve the State and the country by taking active part in social activities.
A Guard of Honour was given to the General Officer by the cadets who also put up a cultural show in the college auditorium.
The ADG visited the Sports & Youth Affairs Department and held interaction with the Secretary PR Poudyal. He appreciated the co-operation being extended by the department and General Officer Commanding 17 Mtn Div., Maj Gen YVK Mohan to both the NCC Units in the State. The General Officer appreciated the efforts being put up by the cadets in social activities in the State. He wished the cadets all the very best in their future endeavours.
