MANGAN, 06 Apr: The commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) for assembly constituencies of North District was completed on Saturday here at Zilla Bhawan Mangan in the presence of Returning Officer, TN Kazi, ARO, Raj Yadav, SP North, RN Yadav and AROs from Chungthang, Mangan, Kabi and Dzongu, Nodal officers and in the presence of representatives of the political parties.
The commissioning was conducted after final randomization of EVMs. Likewise, the commissioning of EVMs for parliamentary constituencies was completed today. 122 EVMs have been commissioned for three constituencies of North Sikkim.
However, commissioning of the EVMs was done in the presence of General Observer, Debabrata Chattarjee and Expenditure Observer, RK Singh. Before sealing of EVMs, 1000 votes were cast as part of the mock poll using 5% of the EVMs. The CEO Sikkim, D Anandan also witnessed the commissioning process.
The strong room will be opened on 11 April for dispatch of the EVMs to the concerned polling booths.
