GANGTOK, 07 Apr: Governor Shriniwas Patil and the First Lady, Rajanidevi Patil, have extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Sikkim on the occasion of Ramnavami.
The Governor’s message on the occasion reads: “The auspicious occasion of Ramnavami, celebrated to mark the occasion of Sri Rama’s birth, the seventh incarnation of Bhagwan Sri Vishnu, gives us the opportunity to refresh and enrich ourselves with the core values and ideals that our culture represents since ancient times.
The festival is an occasion for us to derive inspiration from Sri Rama’s life and deeds that epitomise the ideal of selflessness and duty over self.
On the occasion, let’s commit ourselves to our duties, the wider cause of society and the country, putting aside all our personal motives.
May this occasion be instrumental in reinforcing our resolve to work in unison enriching our composite culture.”
