GANGTOK, 07 Apr [IPR]: The commissioning of the Electronic Voting Machines for the lone Sikkim Parliamentary Constituency was completed today in the presence of the representatives of the candidates and the Central Observer.
100% mock poll has been conducted in all the EVMs. 5% of the total EVMs have been checked with a mock poll of 1000 votes through all the 16 buttons and the EVMs have been found to be working properly. Not a single EVM was found defective in the process of preparation today.
Now EVMs for all the 12 Assembly Constituencies in East Sikkim, Sangha AC and the Parliamentary Constituency are ready for polling and has been kept in a separate strong rooms situated at Auditorium Hall of Tashi Namgyal Academy under lock and seal and strict security. All the EVMs were randomized before the commissioning. The EVMs will now be sent to different polling stations on 11 April.
