GANGTOK, 08 Apr [IPR]: On poll day, 12 April, it is mandatory for all the Presiding Officers (Polling Team) to conduct a “mock poll” one hour before the scheduled time of commencement of poll (7 am).
Hence the “mock poll” will be conducted in all the polling stations at around 6 in the morning or before. All the contesting candidates have already been informed and are advised to instruct their Polling Agents to be present at the time of the “mock poll”.
In case polling agents of at least two candidates are not present at that time, the Presiding Officer will wait for 15 minutes and thereafter will start the “mock poll” even if no Polling Agent is present at polling station.
The Returning Officer, East has requested all the candidates to send their Polling Agent to the polling stations before 6 am in the morning of 12 April without fail.
