GANGTOK, 06 Apr [IPR]: Commissioning of 219 Electronic Voting Machines for 13 Assembly Constituencies of East Sikkim including Sangha Seat was held at TNA Auditorium today in the presence of the General Observers, candidates and their agents/representatives. Reserved machines have also been commissioned as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India and all the procedures were properly briefed to all the representatives of the candidates present in the Auditorium.
A mock poll with 1000 votes in 5% of the EVMs in all 16 buttons was also conducted as per the guidelines in presence of the representatives of the candidates. All the EVMs after commissioning were kept in the strong room under lock and seal and under surveillance of CCTV Camera with full proof security.
In the same way, commissioning of EVMs for Sikkim parliamentary constituency will be held on 07 April 2014. All the candidates for Parliamentary Constituency have been requested to send their representatives for commissioning of the EVMs at 10 am at TNA Auditorium.
