SINGTAM, 11 July: Chisopani JHS organised an awareness programme on the occasion of World Population Day at the school today. The theme of the event was “Census and You” and included a speech competition on the topic of Population among the students and talks on consequences of over population and importance on Population Census. An interactive session between the teachers and students was also held as a knowledge-sharing experience.
Headmaster Mahesh Dahal was the host of the day and briefed students on the significance of the day. He addressed the students and staff of the school with presentation of the National Population charts and other information sheets provided by the Khamdong BAC. DP Pandey, a senior teacher of the school was the Resource Person; he spoke on the importance of Population Census and shared his experience as a Census Officer of Chisopani.
Meanwhile, Bindhya Gurung from Class VII was adjudged the best speaker of the speech competition. [from SHITAL PRADHAN]
