GANGTOK, 13 July: Black Cat Division organized a medical camp and conducted motivation lectures to interest local youth to join the Indian Army at Kupup today. People from the area turned up in large numbers and free medical facilities were provided to 94 villagers, an army press release informs.
The locals were informed about diseases common in high altitude areas and explained the importance of hygiene and proper sanitation, the release adds.
A lecture on employment opportunities in defence forces for the youth of the area was also held and the youth briefed in detail about the raising of the Sikkim Scouts. Around 40 local youth attended the lecture.
