Ward level training on organic farming at Syari

GANGTOK, 14 July: A Ward Level Farmer’s Training was held at Lower Syari under Syari Gram Panchayat Unit in East Sikkim. The training was organized by Mevedir, a service provider for organic certification based at Tadong, Gangtok in collaboration with Sikkim Organic Mission Cell, FS&ADD and HCCDD, Govt. Of Sikkim
A press release informs that 25 farmers under Sikkim Organic Mission of Lower Syari ward attended the day long orientation program. Various speakers informed farmers about organic farming and the certification process on the day.

During the program the participants were shown a documentary film through power point presentation on slow poisoning effect of chemically grown agricultural products by Sikkim Organic Mission Cell, Govt of Sikkim and also on preparation of bio pesticides and manure for effective organic farming, the release adds.
