NAMCHI, 14 July: On the occasion of Vyas Purnima, Sri Vaisav Jyotsmani Panthi Sadhu Dharma Sewa Samiti of Dumigaon at Assangthang in South Sikkim conducted a daylong 84th ritual ceremony cum felicitation programme at the temple on 12 July.
Keshav Raj Pradhan, state-level coordinator Bal Bikas, Satya Sai Sewa Sangathan, was present as the chief guest while retired Assistant Director HRDD, SK Rai was present as special guest. A good number of devotees attended the ceremony.
The 84th ritual ceremony was conducted by five Pandits of the community. Under this ritual, eleven 84 year old elders from the villages of Dumigaon, Sumbuk, Salghari, Ahley and Tinik-Chisopani were felicitated and the organisers thanked them for their contributions to the society.
Sai Sewa Sangathan, Shiv Bhakti Sangathan of Salghari and Jyotsmani Panthi Dumigaon presented hymns and action songs.
Bikas Mangar spoke on the culture and rituals of the Jyotsmani community while the chief guest explained the ritual.
