District-level painting competition on Paryavaran Mahotsav held in Namchi

GANGTOK, 14 July: A district-level painting competition on the theme of the Paryavaran Mahotsav was organized at Namchi Senior Secondary School to select the best from among entries received from different government schools of South District. At the school level, the painting competition was conducted for senior (IX to XII) and junior [VI-VII] categories.
The best-three paintings were submitted onwards to the district. Out of these, Royal Limboo of Namthang Senior Secondary School; Arpan Rai, Namchi SSS; and Sonam Tamang, also of Namchi SSS, bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the senior level while Birendra Gajmer of New Namchi Secondary School, Pravesh Rai of Gumpha Gurpisey JHS and Sonita Mangar of Chumlok JHS bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the junior level.
The district level selection was done by a panel of judges comprising of Passang Sherpa and Lokendra Shrestha. Monee Ram Rai, DFO cum Joint Director (I/C), was present as chief guest.
All the entries will be displayed at the venue for the next 15 days.
