Training on Organic Agriculture held for field staff

GANGTOK, 01 July: SRESTA National Bio-Products ICS Service Pvt LTD, under the Sikkim Organic Mission organized a daylong field staff training program on “Organic Agriculture” here in the capital today.
A total of 60 field staffs and field supervisors of SRESTA National SSWYA, Teesta Tendong ICS took part in the training program.
Sensitizing the participants on organic farming, MK Pradhan [Joint Director, Sikkim Organic Mission], who chaired the program as the chief guest, said that the service providers as well as field staff need to build their capacity for the organic mission to be successful.
During the program, Deputy Director for Agriculture Department, SD Sharma spoke on Integrated Pest Management while Dr. AK Vijaya [Deputy Director, India Cardamom Research Institute, Spices Board] spoke on organic Cardamom cultivation. Similarly, Hoshiyar Singh [Project In-charge, IPL] also addressed the training program.
Manager, SRESTA National Bio-Product, Deepak Gautam was also present on the day.
