GANGTOK, 03 July: Senior journalist Pramod Giri has been selected for the ‘Kanchenjunga Kalam Puraskar 2014’ of the Press Club of Sikkim. Mr Giri is the principal correspondent for Hindustan Times and is based in Siliguri. His name was announced by the Press Club of Sikkim on Tuesday.
Meanwhile Amber Gurung, staff reporter of Himalayan Darpan, has been named for the ‘Laganshil Yuva Patrakar Samaan’ by the Press Club of Sikkim.
The awards would be presented on 17 July during the 12th foundation day function of the Press Club of Sikkim.
On the occasion, journalist Amalendu Kundu from Times of India will also be felicitated by the club in recognition of his contribution to media in Sikkim.
