GANGTOK, 30 June: A meeting of the Akhil Kirat Rai Sangh, Sikkim’s East District committee held under the chairmanship of DK Rai at Sichey today, dissolved the committee following the resignation of members employed with the State Government.
During the meeting, an ad hoc committee was formed with DK Rai as president, NK Rai as vice president, Ashit Rai as general secretary cum publicity secretary and Ashok Rai as treasurer. The ad hoc committee will manage the affairs the district unit until the central committee is dissolved and re-formed, a press release informs.
Among those who resigned from AKRS-East Distrct are its president Binita Rai (employed as CEO, STDC), treasurer KR Rai (employed at Animal Husbandry Department), joint secretary Bhulen Rai (employed under Health Department), culture secretary Narayan Rai (employed under Power Department) and executive member Hiran Rai (employed under HRDD).
