Ex-gratia funds released for Dalapchand landslide affected

GANGTOK, 04 July: The funds under the State Disaster Relief Fund [SDRF] for the house completely damaged in the landslide that occurred on 29 June at Mandir Dara, Dalapchand have been already released by the District Administration for distribution to the SDM [Rongli], informed District Collector [East], AK Singh, while speaking to NOW! over the phone today.
It may be recalled that the model house of Sirju Gurung at Mandir Dara, Dalapchand had got completely destroyed in a landslide last Sunday. The landslide had also blocked the Rongli-Dalapchand road.
The proposed amount is to be distributed to the affected family while additional funds required in case of any such natural calamity in future has already been released by the district administration and handed over to the SDM [Rongli] for distribution, he added.
The report of how much amount has been distributed by the SDM has not come in as of now and the report is expected to reach the office within a day or two and only then will we be able to inform of the total amount distributed as ex-gratia to the affected family, he further stated.
