NAMCHI, 30 June: Sikkim Lepcha Youth Association (SLYA), South District branch formed a new executive body at a meeting held on Sunday at Namchi Girls Senior Secondary School.
Passang Lepcha was given charge as president with Rinkey Lepcha as vice president, Gyan Tsh. Lepcha as general secretary, Dawa Tsh. Lepcha as joint secretary, Sukden Lepcha as treasurer, Yenchen Lepcha as culture treasurer, Dukmit Lepcha as convener and Palden Lepcha as publicity secretary. The meeting also nominated the coordinators of different constituencies of South district.
Addressing the meeting SYLA president, OT Lepcha congratulated all the new members and urged them to work for the welfare of the association and for the Lepcha community of South District. He also highlighted different issues of the Lepcha community of Sikkim and informed about the different schemes and programmes of the state government of Sikkim meant for the welfare of the Lepcha community.
