GANGTOK, 19 June: Membership Assembly 2014 programme of Universal Peace Federation, Sikkim Chapter concluded here in the capital yesterday. The programme was spread over three sessions from 11 a.m. to 7:30 pm.
A press release informs that the final session was attended by Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, KN Rai, accompanied by his wife. RM&DD Minister Sher Bahadur Subedi, Minister for Health AK Ghatani, Minister for Culture, Garjaman Gurung and Mrs. Gurung also attended the session.
Dr. T Chakraborty from Dubai made a presentation on causes of some common diseases and use of Patented German Medicines to cure them.
Minister GM Gurung who is also the UPF Chairman announced that soon an anti-suicide programme will be carried out by UPF in the State. He directed the concerned persons to submit the draft of the programme to him. He also agreed to the proposal put forward by Roshan Kaushik [secretary general UPF, South Sikkim] to have a Blessing Programme in Sikkim.
Further, Mr Gurung announced that the Inter-faith, Inter-Religious and Inter-Community Blessing Ceremony (Marriage) for at least 2000 people will be held in Sikkim this year 2014-15.
Secretary general (national) Krishna Adhikari who had come all the way from Delhi for the Membership Assembly Programme addressed the first session on Divine Principles of Father SM Moon, the founder of UPF and the Peace Movement of the organization.
