GANGTOK, 20 June: Paryavaran Mahotsav 2014 was celebrated by
Sikkim State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (SIMFED) today.
SIMFED organised a plantation drive where 60 varieties of saplings were planted
by the officers and staff on the land belonging to SIMFED at Lumsey, Tadong,
East Sikkim, informs a press release.
On the occassion the officers and staff of SIMFED took a
pledge to keep the environment free from pollution and reduce, reuse and
recycle products in our daily lives.
The plantation was supported and supervised by the officials
of the Forest Environment and Wildlife Management Department, Government of
Sikkim, it is added.
