GANGTOK, 18 June: Kabi Lungchok MLA, Ugen Nedup Bhutia called on the Chief Secretary, R Ongmu today and apprised her of the difficulties being faced by the people of his constituency. He also submitted a representation seeking early solution to the problems.
In the representation, Mr Bhutia has highlighted the frequent disruption in road connectivity in North Sikkim. He has urged for stationing of a permanent and sufficient number of excavators and other necessary accessories / equipments along the slide-prone zone as well as such other disturbance-prone zones across Bakcha-chu, Phensang, Ramthang, Namok, etc.
He has accused the GREF and concerned authorities of the state government for causing the death of an elderly lady who could not get medical treatment on time due to disruption of the road at Namok on 16 June.
The MLA has also sought immediate redressal of the problems being faced by people of Phodong due to the lack of doctors and other staff at the Phodong PHC.
