GANGTOK, 18 June: Research Officer (SSI), North Eastern Council Secretariat, Ministry of Development of NER, Shillong, Mohitosh Chakraborty visited the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom on 17 June to inspect the NEC funded project “Training and Production Centre for Soft Toys”. He was accompanied by Sonam Y Lepcha [Additional Secretary, DPER & NEC Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim].
As per a press release, the entire team of officials of the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom headed by the Director, Ganga D. Pradhan visited the project site. The new building infrastructure has been completed and was handed over by Building and Housing Department on 09 June.
The installation of machines, accessories, tools and equipment and raw materials were demonstrated, inspected and verified thoroughly by the visiting officials from the NEC, Government of India, DPER & NEC Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim and the officers of the D.H.H, the release mentions.
All records and documents were scrutinized, the visiting officials expressed satisfaction on the timely completion of the project as per the guidelines stipulated in the detailed project report and also the mandates of the N.E.C, it is added.
