GANGTOK, 23 July: Troops of Black Cat Division came to the aid of tourists stranded near Milestone 17 [Kyongnosla] on the Gangtok-Tsomgo JN Marg by a landslide at 5 p.m. on 22 July.
An army press release informs that around 25 to 30 tourist vehicles carrying 93 tourists were accommodated at the military camp at Kyongnosla. The tourists were provided refreshments and dinner and accommodated in two centrally-heated dormitories.
The civilians were impressed with the warm hospitality, care, administrative arrangements and the kind gesture of the Army, the release highlights.
