GANGTOK, 02 Apr: Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee [SPCC] members have filed an FIR against Chief Minister Pawan Chamling and two others for cheating the people of Sikkim. For reference, they have taken the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on the State’s Finances for the year ended 31 March, 2010.
Four SPCC members filed the FIR on Tuesday at Sadar Police Station against the CM, Chief Secretary and Secretary Power & Energy Department. It is alleged that the Sikkim government awarded hydro power projects at throwaway rates as compared to other states.
In a FIR lodged at Sadar Police Station at Gangtok on 01 April, the four complainants - Gopal Chettri of Lower Dalapchand, Om Prakash Bista of Chongrang Tashiding, Gyalpo Tamang of Chalamthang and Santa Bir Gurung of Mangmoo – seek necessary investigation and action to be initiated against the Government of Sikkim.
