Mar: In its endeavor to reach out to every junior High School with the Engage Quiz,
the Team of ENGAGE 14 reached St. Thomas School and Burtuk Junior High School
on Saturday.
The initiative
of the Gangtok Municipal Corporation assisted by 24hours Inspired, the ENGAGE
quiz - an informative and engaging way of inspiring school children to reduce,
reuse and recycle - reached around 600 students from classes IV, V and VI from
these two schools.
Earlier, on Thursday, the quiz held was at Manjushree Public
School and Ashmita Vidhya Mandir.
Speaking about the program, Loday Chungoyalpa, Chairperson,
Manjushree Public School, said, “We are very happy that MPS students of Grade
IV had the opportunity to engage in a very important issue of environmental
degradation and waste management. The facilitation was engaging and inspired
the students to be good environment stewards. We will be happy to continue
working with GMC for the betterment of Sikkim.”
Similarly, Ganesh Karki, Principal, Ashmita Vidhya Mandir,
said, “It was great to have a program like this in our school. We highly
appreciate the project and we would like to engage ourselves in programs
related to making Gangtok clean and beautiful.”
