GANGTOK, 31 Mar: The election campaign of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha is underway full swing with meetings held in Amba, Taza, Kaijaley, Takchang gram Panchayat wards today. Hemendra Adhikari, the SKM candidate for Rhenock, along with the senior member Bishnu Khatiwara and Pavitra Bhandari were amongst the star campaigners.
An SKM press release contends that people are in favour of change and have extended support to the SKM for the betterment of Sikkim and Sikkimese people at large. The party has urged people to vote for SKM in both the assembly and parliamentary elections so that the party can implement all the policies and programmes listed in its manifesto.
The release claims that the local people of these areas placed grievances related to lack of basic amenities like motorable roads, footpaths, drinking water and also alleged that the needy have been deprived of government schemes.
Similarly, another SKM release from Chujachen informs that the party is campaigning in Chujachen constituency where KB Gurung has been going door-to-door informing people about the party’s commitments to deliver in the next five years if voted to power. Mr Gurung has also urged people to vote for the Table Lamp and assured that the party will perform better than the SDF party.
The release also claims that 165 families from Kopchey, Biring, Tarethang have left SDF and joined SKM.
