BJP campaign picks up steam

GANGTOK, 03 Apr: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign continued today in different constituencies, a party press release informs.
Ashis Gurung, the BJP candidate for Yangthang constituency, carried out a door to door campaign in Upper Rimbik. The group visited 40 houses, introducing them to the BJP ideology and distributing publicity materials. The people expressed faith in the BJP leadership at centre and pledged support to the BJP candidate of Yangthang, the release claims.
Meanwhile in Gangtok, the BJP candidate NG Dorji conducted door to door campaign at Balwakhani and Vajra Cinema Hall area where he received a warm reception from the voters.

The State BJP candidate from West Pendam, Amar Lohar, toured Sajong, Duga and West Pendam areas extensively with his supporters on a door to door basis and garnered support for the BJP. Khamdong-Singtam candidate MK Sharma also toured Tinek, Upper and Lower Chisopani, Juice Factory area and Sang Nazitam. In about seven hours he met about 450 people in the area and received strong response in favour of BJP, the release states.
