NAMCHI, 02 Apr [IPR]: The State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), D Anandan visited South District Headquarter today to take stock of the election related activities and called a brief meeting with all the Nodal Officers of South District Election Office in the presence of the South District Collector cum Returning Officer, Prabhakar Verma.
While informing the officials about the upcoming Assembly Elections, he talked about some key pointers in the meeting like training of the polling officers and randomization of polling parties as well as that of the EVMs. He also visited the Strong Room and inquired whether the CCTV has been installed in the room to bring about complete transparency in the elections.
The CEO added that there will be web casting done at 15 polling stations situated at four polling locations. He informed that at the time of commissioning of EVMs a mock poll has to be done by the candidate or the agents in which 5% of the machines are to be used. 1000 votes will be cast by them in the presence of candidates or their election agents.
After this brief meeting, the CEO headed towards West District to have similar kind of interaction in the West District Election Office.
