GANGTOK, 30 Mar: The lone lady independent candidate from Arithang constituency, Rajaney Gurung released her manifesto for the coming Assembly election today.
The ten-point manifesto covers issues like unemployment, education for children up to 15 years as a fundamental right, proper drainage systems, safety of life and property, awareness and transparency in the delivery of government schemes, water scarcity, LPG distribution points, facilities for senior citizens and children.
To address the unemployment problem, Ms Gurung plans to set up community centres to provide counseling to the youth. For better LPG distribution services, she has assured to provide home delivery of LPG cylinders while for older citizens, a system where old age pension would be brought to their doorsteps instead of them having to visit government offices.
Ms. Gurung has further announced to work towards curtailing monopoly and ensuring sufficient supply of water in the constituency apart from addressing various other problems faced by the people of the area.
