GANGTOK, 01 Dec: Thirty trainees completed a 15-day “Design and Technical Development Workshop on Carpet Weaving” at the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom [DHH] complex here on 29 November.
The training was organized by the Sikkim Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation and sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner [Handicrafts], Ministry of Textiles.
Speaking at the valedictory function, DHH Director, D Pradhan, encouraged the trainees to use their new skills to pursue a self-reliant future.
The function was also addressed by an official from Marketing Service and Extension Centre, BK Jha, who emphasized the various parameters of CSS like health and life insurance of weavers.
