GANGTOK, 29 Nov: The construction work for the Rangpo Indrakil Prayag will begin in February next. The decision was taken at a meeting held today at the conference hall of the Rangpo Tourism Office after the area MLA and Minister, Neeru Sewa inspected the site.
The Minister was accompanied by the Secretary, Cultural Affairs and Heritage Department, Nalini G Pradhan, Additional Chief Engineer, M Shahid, DFO, N T Bhutia, vice president, Indra Prayag Samiti and advisor, Madhya Bharat Corporation, RK Pradhan, former Minister, DP Kharel and other officials.
It was informed that Indrakil Prayag will include space for a community hall, a crematorium and a Yoga Kendra. At the meeting, the Minister stressed on the need for the facility and appealed for support from all.
The Secretary, Cultural Affairs and Heritage Department in turn informed about how the funds have been arranged by the department to support the construction work while the DFO updated that the construction funds are safe and secure and that not a single penny has been utilized till now.
The meeting also decided to form a committee for the construction work at a later date. [from NANDU DUTRAJ]
