THREE FELICITATIONS AND THREE BOOKS RELEASED
GANGTOK, 27 Nov: Poets and writers, Apsara Dahal, Sonam Dong and Arjun Chamling ‘Yawa’ were felicitated for their contributions in the field of literature at the 76th edition of Pratibha Milan today in a function held here in the capital.
The Pratibha Milan was chaired by renowned poet, Thiru Prasad Nepal from Namchi and attended by renowned poet, Bichandra Pradhan as the chief guest.
On the occasion, an essay collection, ‘Nari Pratibimba’ by Krishna Kriti was also released and likewise, a collection of stories, ‘Prashna Chinha’ and a collection of poems, ‘Samay ko Galbandhi’ by Kalu Singh Ranpaheli were also released during the function.
In his address, Mr Nepal mentioned that satire is a part of Nepali literature and it is constructive criticism meant to show the way to society. He also thanked Pratibha Milan for providing a platform to all upcoming poets, artists and writers.
Likewise, the chief guest, Mr Pradhan, appreciated the efforts of the Pratibha Milan in giving preference to new talents by creating a suitable platform for them.
He further mentioned that this event is also becoming a new platform for encouraging new talents in the state to continue their good work.
However, Mr Pradhan also mentioned that there are many talents who still lack a platform to showcase their work and talent and stressed that everyone should come forward to encourage upcoming young talents in the state. Poets from within the state and outside recited their poems on the occasion.
