NAMCHI, 27 April: Sri Sathya Sai Baba commanded a huge following in the Hills and his devotees, who could not make it Puttaparthi for his funeral have been congregating I large groups across the State offering prayers and singing bhajans as they find solace in their collective faith.
The Sai Centre, Namchi, also held prayers and bhajans today, coinciding with Sai Baba’s funeral in Puttaparthi. The prayers began at 11 a.m. and continued till 3 p.m., after which a silent candlelight rally was taken out from the Sai Mandir here, through the District Administrative Centre premises via Central Park and returning to the Sai Mandir.
People from all walks of life and faiths joined in the prayer service and rally.
A former Bal Vikas student, distraught by the loss, shared her experience of meeting the Sai Baba in person and fought back tears to share that his innumerable devotees have been orphaned by his passing away.
