GANGTOK, 29 April: The Sikkim Chess Association [SCA] was granted official affiliation to the All India Chess Federation at the Central Council Meeting of the Federation held in Chennai on 23 April, informs a press release. SCA was represented at the meeting by the president and the general secretary of SCA.
Since its formation on 24 July, 2008, the executive body of SCA has been constantly persevering for its affiliation and recognition.
Following a visit of All India Chess Federation officials, DV Sundar and Bharat Singh Chawan to the state on 06 February, 2011 where an interface between the committee members of SCA and the officials of the Federation had begun the process, the release further informs.
