EMRS-Gangyap’s first batch aces class XII board exams

GANGTOK, 28 May: The first batch of class XII students of Eklavya Model Residential School, Gangyap appeared for the CBSE exams this year. The school has recorded 100% pass percentage with all 33 students who appeared for the exams passing. The batch comprised of 21 in Humanities, 8 in Bio Science and 4 in Pure Science streams.
A press release informs that Pem Lamu Lepcha of Karzee topped the Humanities stream scoring 95% (English 95, History 95, Pol. Sc. 95, Geography 95 and Phy. Ed. 97) while basketball star Rinchen Doma Bhutia of Mangalbarey scored 94% (English 88, History 95, Pol. Sc. 95, Geography 94 and Phy. Ed 97).
Eday Lepcha of Gangyap scored 93%, Sapana Subba of Kongri scored 93% and Lharip Lepcha also of Gangyap scored 91%. 10 other students scored between 80% - 89%, 5 of them between 70% - 79 % and the lowest score was 64%.
In Science stream, the topper was Shikum Hangma Subba of Bio Science scored 84% while the other 7 others also of Bio Science scored between 70% - 79%. Lako Doma Lepcha of Pure Science scored 79% while the other three scored percentages in the 70's.
Out of the 33 students, 20 scored 90+ in English with the rest scoring between 80% - 89% and only one scoring 72%, the release informs.
The Chairman, Chewang Gyatso Bhutia who is also DC West along with Joint Director HRDD (West) congratulated the students and the entire team of staff for the excellent results, it adds.

  1. Wow...Speechless. That is truly incredible feat achieved by Gangyap EMRS even though the school is suffering some financial crunch.. I heartlily congratulate The Principal, other teachers and amazing students for the success. I wish and pray to God for the bright future of those students. I jst wnt to mention 1thing also that though the performance of the students are truly amazing in board exams but in the odr exams like sikkim cet, the performance is dismal. I suggest that some special courses if given to the aspirants for top level colleges like iits, nits, aiims wud be grateful. - Karma Yangyal Bhutia, Tashiding.
