GANGTOK, 28 May: Pendam Football Club and JVC Football Academy have qualified for the Second Division Sikkim-League 2014 here at Paljor Stadium. Pendam FC topped the final league of the qualifying round with 9 points from 4 games while JVC FA Singtam finished second with 8 points.
The last match in the final league of the Second Division Sikkim-League qualifying round played today between JVC Singtam and Brotherhood FC ended in 3-3 draw. Both teams shared a point each from this draw match.
After playing four matches each in the final league, Sikkim Royal Sports Academy finished in third position with 6 points followed by Brotherhood FC with 4 points and Tadong United FC with just 1 point.
However, Sikkim Football Association has informed that the third team may get a chance if any of the 6 clubs already in the Second Division fail to confirm their participation by 31 May.
The six clubs already in the Second Division are FC United of Jorethang, Dalom Sports Association Sombaria, Howlers SC Singtam, Aakraman XI along with two clubs who were relegated from the First Division Boys Club-A and Friends Football Club (NHPC) Singtam.
The Premier League or First Division has United Sikkim FC, Sikkim Police FC, Boys Club, Sikkim State Sports Academy, Siniolchu Club Namchi, SAI Namchi, Sikkim Himalayan SC (Red) (promoted from 2013 S-League) and D'zongri SC (also promoted from 2013 S-League).
